THERE ARE NO SAINTS
In the summer of 1857, the Devil visited Titusville, Pennsylvania and was greeted by an exorcist with a drinking problem and a bad attitude. This is his story:
For the low price of five dollars, Dexter “Dex” James will exorcise your demons: the demon of lust, drink, and gluttony. Unfortunately, he’s new in town, and few people take him seriously. The ones that do, don’t have a dime to spare. Desperate for money, he elicits help from a boy named Boo and a beautiful woman, named Miss Leslie—she’s half his age and a prostitute, but Dex is smitten.
After performing a supposed miracle, Dex becomes the talk of Titusville. His billfold and ego grow with each exorcism. Only Miss Leslie’s love could make him happier. However, when an evil entity threatens a young girl, Dex must make a choice: take the coward’s way out or stay and fight?
THE SEVEN EXPERIMENTS
Doctor Gary Miller is introduced to the world of self-help in the form of seven experiments. Each experiment is designed to focus Dr. Miller’s mind, so he can realize his dreams through the power of thought alone: conceive it, believe it, and achieve it. He’s dubious at first, but frustrations at work and a loveless marriage lead him down the rabbit hole. Much to his surprise, the experiments work. In fact, they work unbelievably well, and he soon discovers they can lead beyond the acquisition of material wealth. They can make him immortal, and God-like. However, Dr. Miller will learn getting what you want isn’t always a good thing. In fact, it can be quite maddening. Just be careful what you ask for.
Molly Brown has dated every loser Chautauqua County has to offer. But her luck is about to change when she’s dragged to a Halloween costume party by her annoying, best friend, Heather. It’s here where she meets Parker Ambrose, her Knight in shining armor dressed as Count Dracula. Parker is a writer, well versed in Shakespearean English (which he uses seductively to woo Molly) and the perfect match to Molly’s strong personality.
What began as friendship soon winds its way through four seasons. Friendship soon blossoms into love, and the two appear destined for a life happily ever after. But with each passing season, comes a change of weather and with it, a set of challenges that threaten to separate them forever.
Lucky for Molly, she is not alone in her struggles. She has help from above, a divine light in the form of a deceased relative, willing and able to lend a hand in Molly's hour of need. But are small miracles enough to overcome her darkest hours? Or will Molly’s demons prove too strong?
